In this work, I use repetition in a way that echoes assembly line labor in a factory. By repeating motifs and forms with almost mechanical precision, I reference the systematic nature and routine of industrial production. But whereas the factory aims for efficiency and uniformity, I use repetition to evoke reflection and a sense of estrangement. I explore the tension between the unique and the serial, and examine how something typically associated with monotony can gain a poetic power within an artistic context.
